A challenge for citizen journalism

The promise and problems of citizen journalism have been much debated. Last week it was the problems that were on display, as a someone posted a false story at CNN’s iReport project that Apple CEO Steve Jobs had been taken to the hospital with chest pains. The story led to a run on Apple’s stock.
